Steve Chappell and Elaine Kidger made their season debuts in this match and acquitted themselves well. Steve begging to play the singles came through in 2 straight games against a game young Seb Johnson and the ever green Tracy Parker overcoming her younger opponent 21-12 21-19. In a difficult hall with visibility of the shuttle being poor the team came through a valiant challenge from East Leeds with a solid 11 – 3 victory.
