Brunswick Badminton Club have secured the honour of organising the badminton tournament for the British Transplant Games 2008. The event will take place on 9th August 2008 at Ponds Forge Sports Centre. The club first assisted with the games in 2002 when they were held in Loughborough, which proved to be both a fun and fulfilling experience. We are now looking to recruit volunteers to ensure the smooth running of this years event. Please support the club and this worthy cause. Contact Mark or Craig as soon as possible if you and/or any friends or family can help. Only a week to go and we're still waiting for more volunteers. We've got 9 courts to look after plus the desk which will require 2 people, so please come and help us. We will need to be at Ponds Forge for about 8:00am, as registration starts at 8:30 for a 9 am start, lunch and t-shirts will be provided. Sheffield Brunswick made a valiant attempt to lift the inaugural National Badminton Club Trophy at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes last weekend narrowly losing in a well contested final against the more youthful Loughborough University Students Team. The Top 8 clubs from around the country had won through a number of preliminary rounds to take their place in the £5,000 prize fund finals. |

Brunswick was once again crowned Sheffield & District League Champions at the annual Dinner Dance Presentation Night held at Baldwin’s Omega.
The club took the honours in all 3 leagues that it competes; winning the Men’s Doubles Division 1 title, the Ladies Doubles Division 1 title and the Combined Division 1 title. This year’s successes completed a remarkable 21 year consecutive winning streak for all 3 of the clubs teams which is unprecedented in the Sheffield League |
